Mode 2: Update

8. Mode 2 — Update Existing Bot

Use this mode when your files have changed — you added new files, removed some, or modified existing ones in your folder — and you want your bot to reflect those changes.

Update mode is smart: It compares your current folder with what was previously uploaded and only uploads the files that are new or changed. Unchanged files are left as-is, saving time and bandwidth.

Never change the Channel ID between updates

Always use the same channel you registered with. If you enter a different Channel ID in Update mode, the new files will be uploaded there but the system's records will still point to the original channel. After a server restart, your bot will be unable to serve files correctly. If you need to switch channels, contact support at t.me/blessed_tree.

Step 8.1 — Select Update Existing at the top.

Step 8.2 — Enter your Bot Token in the token field.

Step 8.3 — Enter your Channel ID. You can type it directly (it looks like -100123456789 or @channelname) or click the ↻ Fetch button to have Rufoof retrieve the channel automatically from the server. Make sure to choose the same channel that was used while registering the bot the first time!

Step 8.4 — Click Browse... and select the same folder you used during registration (or the updated version of it, in the same location).

Step 8.5 — Click ▶ Start Upload. It will ask you for confirmation, click Yes.

Rufoof will: 1. Scan your folder. 2. Compare it to what was previously uploaded. 3. Upload only new or modified files. 4. Delete files that no longer exist from the bot. 5. Re-order files that were moved inside the same folder. 6. Update the bot's file menu automatically.

When done, a completion dialog will confirm the update.
